Our Roots
River Giver Run was established in 2018 by Ed Reilly and Ty Quaderer to support rehabilitation of veterans and the Wauconda Fire Cadet program. Our main event is the annual River Giver Run held on the first Monday of August. Other fundraising events take place throughout the year.

Veterans Path to Hope Outdoors was created to support the mission of transforming and enriching lives through hosting recreational outdoor activities for military veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. WAUCONDA FIRE CADET PROGRAM
The Wauconda Fire District Cadet Program is designed for young adults who are interested in the fire service. In addition to learning about the fire service, the Cadet Program’s main goal is to provide young adults with a sense of neighborhood responsibility through training, drills and community related activities. Cadets learn all aspects of the fire service including training, day-to-day operations, fire tactics and emergency medical care. Scholarships are provided to cadets to attend the academy.
